RAJOURI, Sept 20: The police today recovered the dead body of a youth hanging from the ceiling hook of a room in local hotel here today.
The deceased was identified as 25-year- old Raj Kumar, son of Prithvi Raj, resident of Metka village in Kalakote. The youth is said to be driver by profession. He hired a room in Valley View Hotel at Panja Chowk, Rajouri last night. After taking his dinner he went to his room. The hotel staff went suspicious after he did not open room even after 11 AM today. They informed Police. The police then broke opened the door and found the body hanging from the ceiling hook of the room.
The police shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and also informed his family. Later, the body was handed over the family for last rites. It has started investigation under 174 CrPC.
Meanwhile, 60-year-old Kasturi Lal, son of Chatru Ram, resident of Mawa village in Sunderbani went missing when he had gone to take bath at Manawar Tawi. He was believed to have drowned in the river. The police and family has started search for him. His clothes and shoes were found lying at the bank of the river.
