KISHTWAR, Sept 25: Army organized Cross Country Championship at Chatru in Kishtwar,   today.
Army officials flagged off the grand event which was coordinated along with the civil administration. The event witnessed a huge turnaround of 1400 participants with a mix of old and the young.
The event was categorized for boys and girls under-14 years, boys and girls 14-30 years, men 30-50 years and men above 50 years.
The various categories  included 5 KM run for boys 14-30 years, men 30-50 years and 2.5 KM run for boys & girls under 14 years, Girls 14-30 years and the senior citizens of Chatru and nearby villages.
At the culmination of the grand event, the army officials gave away prizes to the winners and also complemented the locals for participating in such a large number in a drive towards healthier self.
The audience hugely appreciated the efforts of the Army for conducting such an event which brings to fore the sense and feeling of bonhomie and trust between the locals and Army.
