NEW DELHI, Oct 4: Castor seed extended losses for yet another session with prices falling by Rs 21 to Rs 4,595 per quintal in futures trading today on continuous liquidation of positions by speculators amid a weak trend at the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castor seed to be delivered this month dropped by Rs 21 or 0.45 per cent to Rs 4,595 per quintal, with an open interest of 37,910 lots.
The most-traded November castor seed delivery also lost Rs 21 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 4,699 per quintal, having an open interest of 80,020 lots.
Marketmen said persistent offloading of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets on mounting stocks on supplies amid reduced demand from consuming industries, led to the fall in castor seed prices in futures trade here. (PTI)
