Young Maharaja wins Super Division match, Real Kashmir plays draw with AG’s XI in Premier Division match

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: In the ongoing State Football League-2017, Young Maharaja Football Club won their Super Division match against State Football Academy (SFA) team while Premier Division match between Real Kashmir FC and AG’s XI ended in a 1-1 draw.
In Premier-Division match played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Young Maharaja FC defeated SFA Junior by two goals to nil. Asif and Aqib were the scorers for the winning team. The Young Maharaja defenders gave no chance to opposite team to score and kept them at bay through out the match.
In Super-Division match also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Real Kashmir FC and AG’s XI played a 1-1 draw in a closely contested affair. Both the teams played aggressively throughout the match. However, the first half ended without any time being able to score. Asrar Rehbar opened the account for the Real Kashmir FC in the 50th minute of the match and they managed the lead till 70th minute of the game. In 70th minute the AG’s XI got a penalty which Amanjeet without any mistake converted into a goal and thus scoring an equalizer.
In the last minutes of the game, players from both the sides tried their best to take a lead, but couldn’t. When the referee blew the final whistle the score line read 1-1 and it was the fair result, considering that both the teams missed several opportunities to score. Shahnawaz of AG’s XI was declared as footballer of the match for his performance.
Meanwhile, the State Football League, a mega event first of its kind in the history of J&K football, is going on at different venues of the State with full swing drawing huge crowds to the football venues. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the State these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
