UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: KC Gurukul Public School Jakhar organized three days Handball Tournament for under-17 boys and girls in collaboration with District Sports Council, Udhampur.
On the first day of the tournament, DC Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest, while SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat was the guest of honour.
Sagar Banerjee, Principal of KC Gurukul Public School present the welcome address.
The matches among six different schools were started just after the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest, who also interacted with the players and encouraged them to give their best to be the winning team.
Rahil Gupta, Vice Chairman of District Sports Council, Udhampur also motivated the students to participate in such tournaments. Shray Mahajan, Executive Director of KCGPS also expressed the views.
Shaktish Chopra, Manager of Subash Stadium Udhampur, Ravi Kumar Sports Council Trainer, Karun Magotra DYSSO, Ajit Singh DYSSO, Ajay Sharma DYSSO and Vipin Photra Sports Council Trainer contributed a lot to conduct the matches of the tournament.
In girls section, KC Gurukul Public School defeated Nehru Memorial Higher Secondary School Udhampur by 7-0, whereas APS Udhampur registered win over Girls High school Jaganoo by 3-2.
In Boys section, BBSV Peeth Udhampur defeated Nehru Memorial Higher Secondary School by 15-1 score, whereas in the second match, KC Gurukul Public School beat APS Udhampur by 8-3 score, in third match, Govt Higher Secondary School Udhampur lost to BBSV Peeth Udhampur by 8-6 and in fourth match, APS Udhampur lost to DAV Udhampur by 11-0.
