JAMMU, Nov 8: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his intervention into ensuring payment of pending wages to daily workers before Diwali.
Shastri said a memorandum was submitted to CM today in which they expressed their concern regarding non-payment of wages to daily workers for last several months.
He demanded regularisation of services of all the daily wagers, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in the RDD, increase in the wages of daily wagers from 125 to 300 per day, removal of all pay anomalies of clerical staff, besides other demands.
