DODA, Oct 13: Five persons were injured when the Mahindra Pick up vehicle they were traveling in skidded of the road and fell into a gorge near Malai Bhella area, falling under the jurisdiction of Thathri Police Station.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK06-8978 was on its way to Bhella from Thathri Prem Nagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into gorge.
After getting information, teams from Police Station Thathri and Police Post Prem Nagar rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals.
All the injured persons were shifted to nearby Community Health Centre (CHC), from where they were later referred to District Hospital Doda for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Shukantla Devi, wife of Chain Singh of Pamassa, Waseem Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain, Nayeem Hussain, son of Mohammad Ashraf, Toseem Hussain, son of Talib Hussain and Parveet Sharma, son of Ferol Chand of Malai Thathri.
A case has been registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation started.
