SRINAGAR, Oct 13: As part of Kokernag Festival, Depart-ment of Tourism organised mountain biking event.
More then 20 riders from different parts of Kashmir valley participated in the event.
The event was flagged off by MLA Kokernag Abdul Rahim Rather along with DC Anantnag M Younis Malik, Director Tourism Mehmood Ahmad Shah and Deputy Director Tourism Riyaz Beigh.
The Mountain Biking event started from Kokernag and culminated at Pahalgam. The riders covered a distance of 80 km.
Amir Asad of Shalimar was adjudged as best rider of the expedition, followed by Shajar Lateef, Mahir Tariq, Mohammad Zuhair Khan, Abid Tariq and Asrar Ahmad.
Meanwhile President JK Mountain Association said that more biking events will be organised in the State at different places to popularise it.
