POONCH, Oct 13: Inter Division Volleyball Tournament for all age group boys, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports commenced at GDC, here today.
The tournament will be played on best of three matches’ pattern and under flood lights.
In under-14 category, Jammu beat Kashmir by 2-0 sets, whereas in under-17 category, Kashmir beat Jammu by 2-1 sets.
In under-19 category, Jammu beat Kashmir by 2-1 sets in the first match, whereas in the second match, Jammu registered win over Kashmir by 2-0 sets.
Earlier, SSP Poonch Rajeev Pandey, who was the chief guest on the occasion declared the tournament open and also interacted with the players.
DYSSO Ayaz Khan, Narjeet Singh and Mohammad Qasim, ZPEOs, Pawan Kumar PEL, Nirdosh Kumar Incharge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Gurwinder Singh, Damanpreet Singh and Ramesh Kumar were also present.
The matches were officiated by Narinder Singh, Tariq Khan, Neeraj Kumar, Davinder Singh, Shafkat Hussian, Sahil Sharma, Rameez Khan, Rafi Dar, Iklaq, Abbas and Sourab Sharma.
