SRINAGAR, Oct 14: Srinagar District Boxing Championship, organized by Kashmir Wing of J&K Amateur Boxing Association was held at indoor sports complex, Bakshi Stadium, here.
On the occasion, Secretary, J&K State Sports Council Wahid-ur-Rehman Parra was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Nazir Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Nuzhat Ara, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, GR Beigh, Vice President, J&K Amateur Boxing Association, Kashmir Wing, Sheikh Tulal, Manager Indoor Sports Complex Bakshi Stadium..
The championship was conducted under the technical guidance of Rajan Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Boxing Association, Alamgir, Tarooq Ahmad and Salman Sheikh.
In women category, Bareena and Arbeena secured first and second positions respectively in 30 kg, in 36 kg, Barzum Manzoor and Qousar bagged first and second positions, in 49 kg, Nadya and Ruhab clinched first and second positions and in 60 kg, Sabreen stood first.
In Senior Men category, Deepak Thakur and Musaib secured first and second positions respectively in 49 kg category, Shabir and Adil clinched first and second positions respectively in 56 kg, Irfan and Sainif Shah secured first and second positions respectively in 64 kg, Arslan Shabbir and Saquib Manzoor clinched first and second positions respectively in 96 kg, Naveed and Muneer Hussain secured first and second positions respectively in 75 kg and Mohammad Ali and Arbaz Wani clinched first and second positions respectively in 81 kg.
In Junior boys, Shah Farman and Aqeeb Khan clinched first and second positions respectively in 49 kg category, Faisal and Adil bagged first and second positions respectively in 56 kg, Irfan and Aquib Ameer secured first and second positions respectively in 60 kg, Samir and Irfan Ahmed clinched first and second positions respectively in 64 kg and Masiha and Mohammad Ali bagged first and second positions respectively in 42 kg.
