JAMMU, Oct 14: Aircel-XI Jammu trounced Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu by a margin of 50 runs in an exhibition match played at MA Stadium, here today.
After winning the toss, Aircel-XI Jammu led by skipper Baldeep Singh elected to bat first and made 200 runs by losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Irshad made 104 off 48 balls and Anand Tripathi scored 56 in 25 balls.
For Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu side, Ranjeet Singh, and Sunil Bali took 1 wicket each in 3 over spell.
Chasing the target, Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu led by Mir Imran could make only 150 run, thus losing the match to Aircel XI by a margin of 50 runs. Nitin Kanotra was the top scorer with 33 runs in 22 balls, while Sunil Bali made 21 runs in 22 balls.
Mandeep Singh from Aircel-XI grabbed 3 wickets in 4 overs’ spell while Arun Sharma took 2 wickets in 4 overs spell. Sahil Sharma and Kewal Kotwal took 1 wicket each apiece in their respective spells.
Mohammad Irshad was adjudged as ‘Man of the Match’ for his 104 runs.
On the occasion, Media- XI Cricket Club Jammu vowed for promoting sports and initiating the movement against drugs.
