JAMMU, Oct 16: A teenage girl was kidnapped and gang raped by three persons. However, acting swiftly Gharota police nabbed two rapists.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a family with Police Station Gharota yesterday stating that their minor daughter was kidnapped by Rahul Manhas, son of Sat Pal Manhas and Sachin Kumar, son of Jatinder Kumar, both residents of Badyal, RS Pura and Ajay Kumar, son of Jatinder Kumar, a resident of Ward Number 11, RS Pura and took turns to rape her.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 99/17 under Sections 363, 376 and 34RPC was registered at Gharota and hunt was launched to nab the rapists.
Based on reliable information, a team from Gharota Police Station conducted raid and arrested Rahul Manhas and Sachin Kumar, while Ajay Kumar is still at large and hunt is going on to nab him.
The girl was handed over to family members after conducting medical examination.
Police team led by SHO Gharota Inspector MA Giri made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh.
