JAMMU, Oct 18: The Department of Fire and Emergency Services today pressed several fire tenders fitted with loud speakers into service to generate awareness among the people about the measures required to be taken to prevent any untoward incident during the festival of Diwali.
An official spokesman said that fire tenders from different fire stations were deputed to different areas particularly where stalls of fire crackers have been installed disseminating the information vis-à-vis dos and don’ts for celebrating safe Diwali.
These fire tenders covered areas like Dogra Chowk, Ambphalla, Bus Stand, Kunjwani, Trikuta Nagar and Kunjwani.
The awareness drive was conducted under the supervision of Joint Director Jammu R T Dubey and Deputy Director R C Raina. Other officers of the department also took active part in the drive.
