Jammu, Oct 22: Media XI Cricket Club, Jammu remained better of Sterlite Cricket Club as the former registered huge 64 runs win over its opponent in a friendly match played at M A Stadium, here today.
Winning the toss, Media-XI team, led by Yash Khajuria elected to bat first and erected a towering 174 runs target losing 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Earlier, Media XI CC had an undersized start to their innings as they lost three wickets during the power play. Thereafter, Manish 52 runs off 35 balls and Ankush 32 runs of 24 balls played sensibly to help Media XI CC overcome early disaster. Ashu Mehra (26 runs) also played cameo to a satisfied end of the Media XI CC.
For Sterlite CC, Nitin Thakur and Vishal shared 2 wickets each in their 4 over spell, Bablu also scalped one.
Chasing the target, Sterlite led by Gourav Gupta didn’t offered any challenge and were bowled out on paltry 108 run, thus lost the match by 64 runs.
Ujjwal with 22 runs of 16 balls remained the top scorer for his team while Gourav Gupta also contributed 14 runs in 16 balls.
For Media XI CC, Yash Khajuria and Ashu Mehra shared 2 wickets each, while Amit Sudan, Rahul Khatri, Vivek Suri, Lucky and Amit Kumar shared wicket apiece.
Ashu Mehra was declared as ‘Man of the Match’ for all round performance. On the occasion, Media-XI vowed for promoting sports and initiating the movement against drug.
