Participation of J&K youth must for India’s progress: Poonam Mahajan

JAMMU, Oct 23: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national president and MP Poonam Mahajan today said participation of youth of Jammu and Kashmir is must for the country’s progress.
“India at present is passing through a golden period and without the involvement of youth from Jammu and Kashmir — the crown of India — development and progress is not possible,” said Mahajan in a message to youth of the State.
The BJYM chief was on two-day visit to the State reached here this morning from Srinagar to take part in youth rally organised by State unit of BJYM. She was       talking to reporters here at the sidelines of the function.
“Youth is strength of the country and without them, progress cannot take place,” she said, adding that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir has to play a key role in the development of the nation.
On Rohingya and Article 35-A issues, she said the matter is sub-judice and cannot comment.
She said, “I was in Kashmir yesterday and people there want to live in peace and prosperity. People in Kashmir want employment, development, infrastructure,” she said adding that they (Kashmiris) have high hopes from the BJP and they have realised that only the Saffron Party can fulfil their dreams.
People want opportunities, which are being provided by the BJP, she added.
However, on resentment over party functioning expressed by some of the political leaders during Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s Jammu visit, the BJYM president said, “the Modi Government is working for the welfare of the State and its people.
Earlier, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had a vision for J&K and now the Modi led dispensation is doing the same.”
She added, “People with vested interests and to gain political mileage have problems but we are living in biggest democratic set up, so every one has right of speech and expression.”
Mahajan while addressing the State level youth convention later lauded role of BJYM in raising youth issues and said that it is duty of youth to work for society and nation. She lauded organizational structure of BJYM in State and appreciated its role in all the three regions of the J&K.
BJP State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, BJYM State president Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra, BJYM State Incharge Sanjay Baru, BJYM National general secretary Sourab Choudhary, National Vice-Presidents Madhukeshwar Desai & Er. Aijaz, Gourav Pandey Prabhari J&K also addressed the convention.
Ashok Kaul, enumerated supreme sacrifices made by the great souls in the history of party. He claimed that BJP is promoting every innovative idea for growth and development of youth.
Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra State president BJYM said that BJYM stands with the youth of State at all costs and is promoting activities of development for their growth. He said that the youth of State wants peace and development in all regions for success and thus BJYM is working with a mission to promote brotherhood among all regions.
BJYM State general secretary Tarun Sharma carried proceedings of stage.
Earlier BJYM activists carried the National President in huge motor cycle rally from airport to convention Centre led by BJYM State general secretary Vikas Choudhary. She was received at airport by BJYM national Executive members Nelam Langeh and Bharat Sharma, Gandhi Nagar Mandal president Ankush Gupta and other leaders.
