JAMMU, Oct 23: A woman passenger was killed today in the collision of a bus and a truck in Jhajjar Kotli area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a speeding bus bearing registration number JK14C-1483, which was on its way from Udhampur to Jammu this morning rammed into the parapet of the road before hitting a truck at Salora in Jhajjar Kotli area.
He said that in the mishap, a woman passenger of the bus, who was identified as Roma Devi (36) wife of Shamsher Singh, resident of Pancheri, sustained serious injuries while three/four other passengers received minor injuries.
“Roma Devi was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu but as she died on the way to hospital, her body was shifted to Government Hospital, Dansal, where after completing all medico-legal formalities, her body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites”, he added.
The official said that a case under relevant sections was registered in this connection at police station Jhajjar Kotli and further investigations started.
