Painting Competition on World Diabetes Day held

JAMMU, Nov 10: Organised by Janta Diabetes Care Centre Talab Tillo & JKFAS, the 12th Annual on Spot Painting cum Poster Competition was held at Kamala Palace, here today.
The competition was held on the concepts put forward by Dr Raj Kumar Sharma, which included ‘know your disease and live longer’, ‘fast food kills fast’, ‘Control your diabetes to prevent complications’ and ‘Optimum calories, lesser the diabetes and insulin a friend in need’.
20 prestigious schools of Jammu participated in the competition with over 150 students putting their thoughts and concepts with the help of paint and brush on paper.
Dr Raj Kumar Sharma discussed about various aspects in the management of the disease and that certain precautions and care can help in the management of diabetes and prevent long term complications.
The quality of the paintings and posters was excellent and were judged by Jaipal Singh, Ch Sunder, Vijay Gupta and Sushil Dubey.
In Group A Junior, Shriya Negi of Shangrilla Public School claimed Ist Position, while Sharma of Army Public School Akhnoor and Shivali Sharma of SMSN Higher Secondary School bagged second and third spot respectively. Yakshi Bhagat and Nancy Bavoria claimed consolation prizes.
Meanwhile, in Group B Senior Category, Gourav Verma of Army Public School Akhnoor bagged first place, Awneet Kour of the same school claimed second spot, while Sheetal Mehra of St Xavier’s Convent clinched third place. The consolation prizes went to Ayush Koul and Shubam Dogra.
Suresh Sharma, Secretary JAKFAS presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
