Sabharwal, Wadhwan shine in J&K’s lost battle

JAMMU, Oct 30: In a lost battle, Jatin Sabharwal and Jatin Wadhwan blossomed for Jammu and Kashmir in a match of CK Nayudu U-23 Trophy against Team Tripura at D N Singha Stadium, Goalpara.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Tripura scored 335 in their first innings. SA San top scored with 104 off 231 balls. For J&K, Paras Sahrma, Mohd Tahir and Sunil Kumar took 3 wickets each.
In reply, J&K, in their first essay scored 285 runs. Jatin played a brilliant innings of 153 runs off 164 balls, while skipper Shubham Pundir contributed 46 runs to the total. It was Jatin’s second consecutive ton after he scored magnificent 178 runs  against Rajasthan earlier.  For Rajastahn DK Singha took 4 important wickets.
In the second innings of Tripura, Jatin Sabharwal plotted collapse, scalping 6 important wickets to restrict the rivals for a paltry total of 146 runs. Paras Sharma also took 2 wickets.
In the second innings, J&K bundled out for 92 runs,thus lostthe match by 104 runs. Paras Sharma top scored with 27 runs off 60 balls. TR Mandal took 5 wickets, while VK Saha claimed 3 wickets for Tripura.
