RAJOURI, Nov 1: Muslim Educational Trust (MET), Baba Ghulam Shah Academy (BGSA), today celebrated its 42nd foundation day with all fanfare.
Dr Masud Ahmed Choudhary, former DG of J&K Police and founder Vice Chancellor of BGSB University, Rajouri, was the chief guest on the occasion whereas GN War, Member, Advisory Board, JKBOSE and president, Private Schools’ Association, Kashmir Division, was the guest of honour.
Mir Ashraf, another supreme functionary of J&K Skahawet Centre, Kashmir, participated as special guest in the function while Abdul Qayoom Dar, Administrator, WAKF Shahdra Sharief, presided over the function.
Besides all the luminaries of the area, parents of the students of the institution and teachers witnessed this colourful program. Students of the school presented variety of cultural items of very high standard. Prizes and awards including academic awards were given to the meritorious students of the institution.
One of the important awards given on the occasion was 11th MD Bandey Memorial Award, which went to Masud Ahmed for his outstanding services in the field of education and social work.
Earlier in his inaugural speech, founder of the institution, Khurshid Bismil, narrated journey of last 41 years of MET. He remembered all those persons who rendered their services and help MET movement in this long journey.
