UDHAMPUR, Nov 1: A youth committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree near his house at Panchari, here today.
The deceased was identified as Sanjay Singh (20), son of Ram Chand of Galiote. He was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances, this morning. Some locals spotted the hanging body and immediately informed the Panchari Police Station, from where a team rushed to the site. Police shifted the dead body to hospital for postmortem and registered a case in this connection.
Cause of taking extreme step could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, a man attempted suicide by consuming poisonous substance at his house in Ramnagar. He was identified as Harbans Lal, son of Sobha Ram of Buktryan, Ramnagar. Family members shifted him to District Hospital Udhampur while Police has registered a case to ascertain the case of provocation.
