JKMEF suspends ongoing chain hunger strike

JAMMU, Nov 1: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) today suspended their ongoing chain hunger strike.
The decision to suspend the ongoing chain hunger strike as well as district wise protests as per schedule framed last month was taken after a meeting of senior leaders of the Federation with Dr Gurjeet Singh, Director Health Services (DHS), Jammu, which held after the invitation of the latter.
During the meeting, the Director Health Services showed a positive attitude towards the employees and expressed his keen interest in resolving all the legitimate demands. He assured that within 10-15 days the DPC of all the categories of health employees will be cleared.
Regarding the amendment of SRO-20 which is pending since long, he told that the matter is already under process at administrative level and very soon the department will come up with the amended rules. He assured that all other legitimate demands will also be resolved shortly.
