Junior Khalsa outplays Singh-e-Punjab to enter finals

JAMMU, Nov 3: In a thrilling contest, Junior Khalsa Cricket Club Jammu outplayed Singh-e- Punjab Patiala Cricket club by a margin of 16 runs in a close contest of the 2nd Sikh Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, organized by Khalsa Cricket Club Jammu at Baba Jhule Shah Ground, Camp Gole Gujral, here.
After winning the toss, Singh-e-Punjab Patiala Cricket Club led by skipper Ranjeet Singh elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, JKCC lead by captain Kawal set a good total of 179 for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Kawal made 64 runs, while Sourav and Gagan contributed 33 and 25 runs to help JKCC post a decent total. For SPPCC side, Ranjeet took 2 wickets, while Amanpreet claimed 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, Singh-e-Punjab Patiala cricket club made 163 runs, thus lost the match by 16 runs.
Devinder Singh scored 46 runs, while Bharamjot contributed 36 runs to the total.
From JKCC side, Anmol, Kawal and Jatinder claimed 2 wickets each.
Ajay Sadhotra, former Minister was the chief guest on the occasion.
The match was officiated by Harinder and Sukhvinder as umpires, while Prithpal Singh was the scorer.
