‘SSB Football Cup’ gets underway

KATHUA, Nov 11: After the successful completion of the first phase of “SSB Football Cup-2017” organized under ‘Samajik Chetna Abhiyan’ by 66 Battalion, SSB Jammu at two tehsils of Marheen and Hiranagar, the first phase of tehsils Billawar and Basohli got underway, here today.
A total of four matches were played today.
At Billawar, Public School Billawar defeated Govt. Higher Secondary School by two goals to one (2-1), while in another match, Sports Club Phinter defeated Govt Higher Secondary School Baddho by four goals to nil (4-0).
At Basohli,  Govt Higher Secondary School Palasi held Saint Annie Convent Middle School to (1-1) goal draw.
In another match, Navodaya Vidyalaya Basohli defeated Vir Sawarkar Higher Secondary School Basohli by a three goals to nil (3-0).
The opening ceremony at Billawar tehsil was organized at Delhi Naza Maidan in which MLA, Jeevan Lal was the chief guest. He was accompanied by Ajay Kumar, Commandant, Barjeet Singh, Deputy Commandant, Jeet Lal, Deputy Commandant, SP Tondup, Deputy Commandant and Ritesh Kumar, Assistant Commandant.
Earlier, Ajay Kumar, Commandant presented welcome address and threw light on the tournament.
