KATHUA, Nov 12: Three persons died after consuming poisonous substances in three different places of Kathua district today.
According to reports a youth consumed some poisonous substance at his residence at Kali Bari, Kathua today. He has been identified as Yash Paul, 25, son of Narayan Singh. He was first shifted to District Hospital Kathua where from doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu as his condition was critical. But he died on way to GMC.
His body was later brought back to DH Kathua where after postmortem it was handed over to family for last rites. Kathua Police has registered a case under Section 174 and started investigation.
In another case a young house wife identified as Neelam Kumari, 30, W/o Ashok Kumar of village Gurah Kalyal in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district also consumed some poisonous substance at her residence today. She was taken to SDH Billawar for treatment but as her condition was serious and doctors referred her to GMC Jammu but she died on way to GMC just after vehicle travelled only two kms from Billawar.
The Ramkote police post falling under PS Billawar has taken the cognizance of the matter and registered a case under Section 174 in this regard. The dead after postmortem at SDH Billawar was later handed over to family for last rites. However the cause for the extreme step taken by her was not known and police has started investigation.
Meanwhile a dead body of a youth was found near a nullah in Bari area eight kms from Bani today. He has been identified as Rakesh Kumar , 40, S/o Tananter Singh of Bari. The police took the dead body into its custody and after postmortem at SDH Bani it was handed over to family members for last rites. Police presumed it a poison case and a FIR was registered at PS Bani, under Section 174 RPC in this regard and investigation taken up.
