Earlier, in the first match, Vishal Abrol defeated Mustafa Ali by 3-2, while Akshay Kumar got the better of Abhirath 3-1; Inderpal Singh defeated Shubham Sharma 3-0; Arjun Sharma prevailed over Amandeep Singh (3-0); Agam Anand beat Ansh Chopra 3-2; Momin Mehraj outplayed Aditya Sharma 3-0; Rahil Bhat outclassed Sunil Kumar 3-1 and Vipan Malhi thrashed Akhil Tandon 3-0.
