JAMMU, Nov 15: Secretary Information Dr Abdul Rashid, today visited Directorate of Information and Public Relations at the Media Complex here and took stock of overall functioning of the department. After assuming the charge of Administrative Secretary of Information Department, it was the first visit of Dr Abdul Rashid to the Media Complex.
During his visit, the Secretary inspected offices of Directorate of Information and Joint Director Information Jammu.
He went around various sections including Public Relations, Film, Photo, Establishment and Auditorium. Chairing a meeting of officers, the Secretary got first hand appraisal of functioning of each section of the department. He directed the concerned for projecting Government’s programmes and policies launched for public welfare in better way so that the deserving can aware about these schemes and avail the benefits of them.
Dr Rashid also interacted with the staff and asked them to work with zeal and dedication ensuring prompt and effective dissemination of day-to-day information with regard to government functioning, saying that information department in an interface between the Government and people.
