JAMMU, Nov 17: Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, released an amount of Rs 8.5 lakh as loan in favour of six unemployed males and females of Reasi district under Direct Financing Scheme.
The Corporation Vice-Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, along with Managing Director, R.K. Pandita, Divisional Manager, Ghulam Qadir Khatana, handed over the Payment Authority Letters (PALs) of the beneficiaries of Reasi to District Manager, Sat Paul Sajgotra and asked him to inform the loanees about the sanction and release of financial assistance in their favour. The beneficiaries in whose favour loan amount has been released include Mushtaq Ahmed and Shabir Ahmed belonging to Scheduled Tribe Category, Darshana Devi and Veena Devi belonging to Backward Class category and Madan Lal and Sanjay Kumar from Handicapped category.
A total of Rs.8.5 lakh has been released in favour of these six beneficiaries, while total amount disbursed till date amounts to Rs. 22.55 lakh, which has benefited the unemployed youth of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, Handicapped and Safai Karamchari categories.
Vice-Chairperson Balbir Ram Rattan and Managing Director R.K. Pandita, on this occasion, stressed upon the District Manager to ensure that the loan beneficiaries deposit their monthly installments in time and also the district team of the Corporation should devote time in motivating the defaulters to clear their dues. They said that the Corporation is always at the service of the unemployed people belonging to the target groups and appealed the unemployed people of reserved categories to not sit idle but set up their earning units by availing financial assistance from the Corporation.
