Dr R R Aggarwal Memorial Lecture organized at SKUAST-J

JAMMU, Nov 17: Indian Society of Soil Science, New Delhi (Jammu chapter) organized 15th Dr R R Aggarwal Memorial Lecture, here today.
Prof O P Choudhary, eminent Scientist & Head of Department of Soil, PAU Ludhiana, was the lead speaker. He discussed the current pollution condition prevailing in the northern States. He stressed to have a comprehensive coordination between the scientists, farmers and all stake holders, for the redressal of air and water pollution.
Dr Choudhary said that agriculture is wrongly targeted for the prevailing pollution, but the fact is it contributes only 8 percent, even less than the household i.e. 15% followed by vehicular i.e.30% and 48% for industry.
Earlier, Dr Vivak M Arya, Secretary ISSS Jammu Chapter apprised the house about the objectives and activities of the society.
