Volleyball event begins in Jammu Police Sports Festival

JAMMU, Nov 18: Volleyball matches of boys and girls of under-19 years of age in Jammu Sports Festival got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
The Jammu Police Sports Festival is being organized by District Police Jammu, under the overall supervision of Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu and the slogan of the event is “Khelo Khel-Bhulo Nasha”.
Ranjeet Kalra, Advisor for Sports in Youth Affairs, Union Territory of Lakshadweep (Union Home Ministry) and Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu was the chief guest in today’s proceedings.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest applauded the initiative of J&K Police in promoting sports and channelizing energy of youth.
The participating Volleyball teams of boys and girls included Govt. HS School Jhiri, SRML HSS Jammu, Govt HSS Bahufort, Govt. HSS Hari Singh, Govt HSS Khour, Govt. HSS RS Pura, Govt HSS Akhnoor, MRLD School, Chenab Valley Ranjan, Govt HSS Pargwal, Govt HS School Muthi, Dogra HSS Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Govt. Girls HS School Mubarakh Mandi Jammu and  Govt Girls High School Chowadi.
Govt HSS Jhiri registered win against SRML HSS Jammu by 2-0, Govt. HSS Pargwal defeated Chenab Valley Ranjan by 2-0, Govt. HSS Khour drubbed Dogra HSS, Ganghi Nagar Jammu by 2-0, Govt. HSS RS Pura outplayed Govt. HSS Muthi by 2-0.
In the quarter final matches, M RLD School got the better of Govt. HSS Jhiri by 2-0, Govt HSS Pargwal trounced Govt HSS Bahufort by 2-0, Govt. H.S. School Khour registered win over Govt HSS Hari Singh and Govt HS School Akhnoor defeated Govt HSS RS Pura by 2-0.
The matches were officiated by Pritipal Sharma, Raman Gupta, Jagjeet Singh Chib, Amit Sharma, Ajeet Singh, Tilak Raj, Mulk Raj and Jugal Kishore Sharma.
Famous anchor RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the programme, while Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Member Sports Council is the Nodal Officer of the Festival.
