Militants hurl grenade at security forces in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Militants hurled a grenade at security forces on Sunday afternoon in downtown Srinagar, official sources said here.

They said unidentified militants lobbed a grenade at security force personnel, who were withdrawing from Srinagar’s Parimpora, where curfew like restrictions were imposed since Saturday for security reasons.

However, they said no one was injured in the attack, adding the militants managed to escape during the chaos created due to the explosion. Additional security forces have been rushed and a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants. (UNI)
