Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 20: Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Championship was organized by Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Association under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the banner of J&K State Sports Council was conducted at Peer Baba Akhara, Arnia.
The championship was held under the overall supervision of Bansi Lal Tidyal, General Secretary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and Prithvi Raj Sharma, Treasurer J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
37 wrestlers from various Tehsils and Akharas participated in 7 weight categories of 48 Kg, 51 Kg, 55 Kg, 61 Kg, 67 Kg, 75 Kg, +97 Kg upto 120 Kg in the said championship.
MLA Bishnah, Dr Kamal Arora was the chief guest on the occasion who presented Medals, Certificates to the winners and runners-up wrestlers. He also announced an amount of Rs one lakh for the development of Akhara.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
The bouts were officiated by Surinder Kumar Sharma, Ram Paul Sharma, Tara Singh and Sodagar Singh.
