UDHAMPUR, Nov 24: Annual Sports Day was celebrated at KV No-1 Udhampur with great pomp and show, here today.
Col PK Sharma, Col SO(GS) Nominee Chairman was the chief guest. He was escorted by NCC and Scout Guide troops headed by Surinder and Sanjay Kohli respectively.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Principal Rajesh Pandey, Usha Koul, Sukhwinder Bali and Meenakshi.
The guests were welcomed by presenting Bouquets, Badges and Caps.
The programme started with the Flag hosting ceremony. A vibrant and informative cultural programme began with the welcome song presented by the students.
Principal Rajesh Pandey presented welcome address and spoke about the achievements of school in KV Regional, National and SGFI Competitions during the session.
All the National level participants and the four houses had a flag march ceremony.
The School Sports Captain Master Nikhil Sharma of Class 12th took the oath of sportsmen spirit.
The chief guest gave away his blessings and also emphasized over the importance of sports in life with the declaration of Annual Sports Day. Various sports events like ‘Three Leg Race’ , Hundred Metre Race’ , ‘Relay Race’, ‘Dress Up Race’, ‘Running with the Partners’ etc were held and the students participated with great enthusiasm.
Events like 100 mtrs Race’, ‘Relay Race’, etc were organized for the teachers, which became a cynosure for the event, the prizes were distributed among the winners.
The occasion came to an end with the vote of thanks presented by Sports In-charge Rajeev Singh.
The stage was well coordinated by Sanjay Kumar, PGT Hindi and Jyotsana Sirohi TGT English.
