SAMBA, Nov 24: In order to promote sports and inculcate spirit of sportsmanship amongst the Police personnel, trainees and local youths of the area, Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur, organized a Volleyball Sports Meet at PTTI Campus under Civic Action Programme, here today.
Four Volleyball teams from surrounding area and two teams of PTTI Vijaypur, one team each of trainees and staff participated in the event. The tournament/Sports Meet was inaugurated by Savita Parihar, SSP, Vice Principal PTTI Vijaypur who interacted with the players and advised the participating teams to remain fair and friendly while playing the game.
Ashok Kumar-JKPS Principal PTTI Vijaypur was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Principal said that participation in the sports especially by the youth, brings all round development which includes mental and physical fitness and promotes brotherhood.
Principal Ashok Kumar, SSP and Vice Principal Savita Parihar SSP alongwith Mukesh Kumar Dy.SP Admn and other dignitaries gave away the Trophies, Cash Rewards and Certificates to the players.
Volleyball team Swankha clinched winners trophy alongwith cash reward of Rs.4000, whereas Volleyball team of Gurha Mundian remained runners -up which was presented a trophy alongwith a cash reward of Rs.3000.
Among others, Inspector Hemanshu Sunil, Inspector Khushwant Singh, Inspr. Raman Kumar, Inspr. Neeraj Kumar, Inspr. Ashok Jasrotia, Inspr. Rajesh Rana RI, Inspr. Puran Singh CDI, Inspr. Bhagwan Dass, Inspr. Anil Sagar and others were present on the occasion.
