JAMMU, Nov 25: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today asked the teachers to inculcate moral values and discipline among the students, besides imparting quality education to them.
The Minister was speaking during the Annual Day function of SS Kids Care Playway School, Indira Colony in Janipur area here today.
Principal of the school, Shahzada Khan welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries including Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K Ravi Kesar, DFO V Senthil Kumar and president Indira Colony Mohalla Welfare Committee Jagdev Singh, present on the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said these programmes not only provide a platform to the students to exhibit their hidden talent but also introduce them to the rich cultural heritage of the State. He urged the students to take part in co-curricular activities for overall development of their personality.
Describing students as the future leaders, the Minister said extra-curricular activities are an essential component of the education process that prepares them to face future challenges effectively.
Appreciating the efforts of school management for organizing the programme, the Minister said these programmes boost the morale of the students and they get a chance to explore their creativity.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the school children depicting cultural ethos of the region, which was highly appreciated by the audience.
