Army organizes Kho Kho C’ship

SRINAGAR, Nov 27: Army today said it organized a Girls Kho-Kho Championship at AGS Naugam in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A defence spokesman said that the event was a big success with girl students throughout the Mawar Valley participating with great enthusiasm.  “A total of six teams participated in the two week long tournament with all teams displaying a lot of enthusiasm and zeal,” he said.
The spokesman said that the final match was played between Government High School Naugam and AGS Naugam with the latter winning a hard fought contest. The match was witnessed by a large number of local civil dignitaries including officers of the Army, AGS staff, students, and Sarpanches and Numbardars of most villages of the Mawar Valley, he said.
“It was encouraging to witness the large number of youth who attended the finals of the popular tournament. The aim of this tournament was to provide the girl children a suitable platform to display their skills. At the end of the match, prizes were distributed to all the players and the champion team,” the defence spokesman added.
