Night temp plummets

SRINAGAR, Nov 30: Night temperature in Kashmir declined today and was recorded below freezing point at all places in the Valley.
A Meteorological Depart-ment official said the minimum temperature in summer capital Srinagar was recorded -1.7 degree Celsius, against the previous of 1.3 degree Celsius. He said that day temperature in Srinagar settled at 15.2 degree Celsius. Qazigund in South Kashmir recorded a low of -1.2 degree Celsius against the previous of -0.6 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 14.0 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Pahalgam tourist resort was lowest across Kashmir and it was recorded -4.0 degree Celsius against the previous of 1.2 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Pahalgam was recorded 11.5 degree Celsius. In Kupwara, the day temperature was recorded 16.3 degree Celsius and night temperature settled at -2.0 degree Celsius against the previous of 0.7 degree Celsius.
Kokernag recorded a maximum of 12.9 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at -1.5 degree Celsius against the previous of 1.4 degree Celsius. Gulmarg ski destination recorded a low of -2.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -3.0 degree Celsius while maximum temperature settled at 4.6 degree Celsius.
Leh also recorded decline in night temperature where minimum temperature settled at -9.4 degree Celsius against the previous of -3.7 degree Celsius while maximum temperature stood at 6.6 degree Celsius. Kargil recorded a maximum of 7.4 degree Celsius and minimum temperature settled at -7.0 degree Celsius against the previous of -4.0 degree Celsius.
