GRP XI thrashes Railways XI by 61 runs

JAMMU, Nov 18: GRP XI thrashed Railways XI by a huge margin of 61 runs in the Friendly T-20 Cricket Match at Railway ground, here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, GRP XI scored 151 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Gurmeet Singh thrashed some crispy shots and scored 44 runs.
In the second inning, RPF failed to chase the target and bundled out at 90 runs for all out in stipulated 20 overs.
Gurmeet Singh of GRP XI was declared as man of the match for his outclass batting performance.
Earlier, the match was inaugurated by Dr Kamal Saini, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Railways, in presence of SSP Railways Shiv Kumar Sharma, senior officers from Railways, RPF, GRP, local populace and sports lovers.
While speaking, IGP Railways highlighted the importance of sports activities and said that sports activities plays a pivotal role for the overall development of the body vis-à-vis mentally and physically.
