JAMMU, Nov 18: BJP and Congress have strongly condemned the yesterday’s grenade attack on a wine shop at Narwal near here in which one person was killed and six were injured.
BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria while strongly condemning the attack said it reveals that the Government’s claims on improvement in situation are totally hollow and more needs to be done to weed out terrorism from the state.
Khajuria said that the two repeated attacks within 48 hours on liquor shops in the state one in Srinagar and another in Jammu shows that militants hideouts exist and both Cenral and state governments have failed to ensure security of the common masses in the state. The resurfacing of terrorist violence has also scared people, he added.
Congress spokesman and MLC Ravinder Sharma while condemning the attack said that security should be beefed up to ensure that no such incident takes place in future. Terming the attack the handi work of the Pak supported militants, he said it appears that separatists were trying to disturb the situation in the state again which had limped back to normalcy.
Bahu Fort Development Committee president Rajeev Charak and spokesman Ishant Gupta have also condemned the grenade attack. They accused the Government of the same. They alleging that militants were emboldened by removal of Nakas at Bahu Fort, Narwal Bypass etc and they attacked on will.
