J&K Deaf Judo team wins 5 medals at Nationals

JAMMU, Dec 9: J&K Deaf Judo team wins 5 medals, with 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze in the recently concluded 22nd National Games of the Deaf for Senior Men & Women at Sports Village Ranchi in Jharkhand.
The Games were organized by All India Sports Council for Deaf.
The team was accompanied by Team Coach Suraj Bhan Singh, State Sports Council Coach, Gulshan General Secretary All J&K Association of Deaf, Saleem, Gulzar and other members of All J&K Sports Council for Deaf.
The Team was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
40 players of different games participated in the six days long Championship.
The team was trained by Suraj Bhan and Ritika Slathia, coaches of J&K State Sports Council.
Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, Secretary J&K State Sports Council lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
The medals winners in Judo included Vivek Singh (Gold), Rakshanda Mehak (Gold), Nabeel Ahmed Dar (Silver), Shikha (Silver) and Rohit Nowsheri (Bronze).
Meanwhile, J&K won 2 medals in Badminton also in these Games and the winners were Ifla (Gold) and Shubi (Gold) in doubles and Silver in singles by Ifla.
