JAMMU, Dec 9: Lakshmi Cricket Club and Road & Safety XI registered wins against their opponents in the ongoing 5th Christmas Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being jointly organized by Christian Sports Organization Jammu and Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu supported by Diocese of J&K.
Earlier, in the first match Lakshmi Cricket Club defeated Srinagar XI by 25 runs. Batting first, Lakshmi Cricket Club scored 150 runs in 20 overs. Nipun Verma (37) and Yogesh Sikka (20) were the main contributors.
From bowling side, Zubair took 4 wickets, Rayees and Sajad claimed 2 wickets each while Shabir bagged 1 wicket.
In reply, Srinagar managed to score 125 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 25 runs. Sajjad top scored with 43 runs. From Lakshmi Club, Yogesh Sikka was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets, while Dhruv Mahajan, Aman and Bansi Lal claimed 1 wicket apiece. Yogesh Sikka was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, Road & Safety XI defeated KC Sports Club by 8 wickets. Batting first, KC Sports Club bundled out for paltry 86 runs. Skipper Arjun Choudhary top scored with 20 runs, while Suryansh Raina contributed 16 runs to the total.
From bowling side, Asif Khan took 4 wickets, while Wasim Raza took 2 wickets while Mehjoor Ali and Ishtiaq claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Road & Safety XI chased the target in 12.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets, with Umar Alam (32) and Ishtiaq (26) being the main contributors.
From bowling side, Aman Sharma took 2 wickets. Asif Khan was declared as the man of the match.
