JAMMU, Dec 10: Akash Batra once again brought laurels to the State as he has been selected for 2nd Asian Men’s Netball Championship to be held at Malaysia from December 13 to 17.
After thoroughly reviewing the performances during past two years Senior National Netball Championship and Inter Zone Championship (representing North Zone) by Netball Federation of India, Batra was recommended and selected for rigorous training and a series of trials were conducted at Dwarka, Goyla Khurd and New Delhi and further on the basis of comprehensive assessment of the physical fitness, performance in nationals, selection camps-cum-trials and performance in the final selection trials, the selection committee finalized him and was selected among the top 12 players of India to represent the country.
Batra is presently working as trainer of Netball with J&K State Sports Council, Jammu.
