Open J&K State Sport Climbing competition on Dec 23

JAMMU, Dec 14: To tap the talent at the grass root level, Tawi Trekkers J&K, the premier adventure organization of the State, in collaboration with Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab, Jammu, will organize an Open J&K State Sport Climbing competition at Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in the school complex on December 23, 2017 here.
Since it is part of club’s efforts to tap hidden talent in the budding climbers, only fresh climbers, both boys and girls, up to the age of 16 years (born in 2001 and after) are eligible to compete in the competition. However, to strengthen the state women team, girls born in 2000 and earlier who are not zonal medalists will be allowed to participate in the competition. Besides, in all other categories also the zonal medalists are not eligible for participation.
The club has planned to depute the winners of this competition for participation in the monthly Series of Sport Climbing competitions being organized by Indian Mountaineering Foundation North Zone Committee at different venues in the north zone.
General Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K Ram Khajuria while expressing his gratitude to the management of Sprawling Buds ICSE School for their co-operation and Tawi Trekkers, especially its Secretary Shawetica Khajuria, for the timely sponsorship assured them that with their continued liberal support Mountaineering Association of J&K would soon achieve the aim of winning national championship and producing international climbers.
The competition will be organized under the overall supervision of General Secretary of the club Shawetica Khajuria who is an International Judge of the game.
Whereas Sonam Sidharth, Joint Secretary of the club shall be the Organizing Secretary of the Competition, Manik Slathia and Ambreen Fatima, both trained Belayers will be the Route Setters cum Belayers of the competition.
