State Football Academy launched in Kathua, Samba

JAMMU, Dec 15: State Football Academy of J&K State Sports Council today launched its District Unit at Kathua and Samba, thereby completing the functioning of 12 districts where football activities of SFA are at its peak.
After stiff and healthy competition during the open selection trials around 300 players participated in each district out of which 120 players have been selected in both the districts in a fair and transparent way which will be professionally trained and groomed by elite panel of coaches.
These players will be nurtured to play for highest level of competition in the country under various age groups under the leadership of star player Mehraj-Ud-Din Wadoo.
The chief guest on the occasion was Secretary J&K State Sports Council, Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, while Member District Sports Council, Rajendra Singh, President Jammu and Kashmir Football Association, Z A Thakur, Arjuna Awardee Krupali Singh and ADC Samba, Tilak Raj were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Waheed said SFA is committed to reach in all 22 Districts of the State thereby providing platform to every player who wishes to take sport as career or profession.
