JAMMU, Nov 20: Shrimati Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies (SSGCWS), MIER organized an extension lecture on “Woman as a Working Parent”.
On the occasion, Sarita Chauhan Rana Vice Chairperson, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), was the resource person, while, Dr Renu Gupta, Principal and Director, MIER presided over the function. Dr Surinder Kaur, Controller of Examinations, Dr PL Koul, OSD MIER, HoDs of various Departments of the College, staff and students were also present.
Sarita Rana exhorted that the women have to break the shackles of a parochial society and bring about a change in the social order, which has to commence at home. She gave some valuable tips and suggestions to be successful in both the fronts.
She also inaugurated the wall magazine, which is a regular feature of CWS.
The lecture was followed by an interactive session in which audience shared their views.
Dr Renu Gupta in her address said that women have to struggle to make the two roles of their lives successful. They need to draw a line between the personal and professional lives.
At the end, Monika Rathore, Coordinator, CWS, presented vote of thanks.
