JAMMU, Nov 21: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resource organised State Level Painting Competition on “Replete Ground Water Before Deletes”, in which students of class 4th, 5th and 6th standard participated enthusiastically at Government Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk.
In the competition, Jagriti Verma of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kishtwar bagged first prize, whereas, second and third positions were claimed by Nidhanshi Bavoria of Shangrilla Public School and Prakriti Sharma of Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Akhnoor respectively.
On the occasion, SP Bhartiya, Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners in presence of SA Buch, Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu, who was guest of honour.
SP Bhartiya while speaking emphasized on the importance of conservation of water.
