Lala Kanhaiya Shah Educational Trust organizes 16th annual awards presentation ceremony

JAMMU, Nov 21: Lala Kanhaiya Shah (LAKSH) Educational Trust organised 16th annual awards presentation ceremony at Government Higher Secondary School, Mahanpur.
Principal Government Degree College (GDC), Mahanpur, Dr YP Kundal was the chief guest, while Chairman of the trust LD Gupta presided over the function.
The prestigious ‘Uttam Vidyarthi Award” of Rs 10,000 was shared by Mrigank Magotra, son of Sunil Dutt of Spring Dale HSS Kathua and Bandana Yadav, daughter of SS Yadav of Cosmic Heart school Kathua by standing first in Kathua district in 10th class exam.
Kimmi Sharma, daughter of Romesh Chand of GGHS School and Asha Devi, daughter of Krishan Chand of Government Middle School Mahanpur won the Laksh merit and Achri Devi scholarship.
Balwinder Singh, son of Mohan Singh of GHSS Mahanpur bagged special cash award for being topper in 12th class among the local schools. Financial help was also extended to the deserving students.
Rohit Vara was honoured for excelling in sports, Harmita Gupta in debate competition and Devinder Singh for socio-economic activities. Retd teacher Jagan Singh and Lecturer Daleep Kumar was also honoured for lifetime contributions.
Dr Kundal lauded the role of trust and its contribution towards literacy promotional activities.
CM Sharma highlighted the varied educational promotional activities of the Trust in far-flung areas.
Among others present were trustees KC Gupta, SK Vaid, SN Sharma, Shatrugun and Ashok Gupta.
At the end, Managing Director of the trust Dr JL Gupta presented vote of thanks.
