AKHNOOR, Jan 1: Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor crushed Friends Warriors Jourian by 9 wickets in the ongoing Thakur Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament, being organized by PHE Department at Govt Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Earlier, put into bat, Friends Warriors Jourian scored a modest total of 121 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Bhanu Singh top scored with 40 runs, while Tushar Singh, Vishal and Randeep contributed 23, 16 and 15 runs to the total respectively. From Singh CC Akhnoor, Happy and Sham Singh Langeh shared 3 wickets each, while Sunil Kumar took 2 wickets.
In reply, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor scored 122/1 in 10.2 overs, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Govil Sharma top scored with 59 runs, while Manik Sahrma and Shubham Khajuria contributed 30 and 18 runs to the total respectively. From Friends Warriors Jourian, Randeep Singh took the lone wicket to fall. Govil Sharma was adjudged as the man of the match for his superb knock.

Sham Lal Choudhary, Minister PHE was the chief guest on the inaugural ceremony, who declared the tournament open in presence of Rajeev Sharma (MLA Akhnoor), Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat (MLA Khour) and Hilal Parray.
