JTC, SKF hold protest dharna

JAMMU, Jan 1: A protest ‘dharna’ was held by the Jagti Tenement Committee and Soan Kashmir Front J&K, under the leadership of Shadi Lal Pandita, its president, at Jagti, here today.
The ‘dharna’ was attended by the office bearers of the Committee, members and the residents of the township.
The demands projected by the members included enhancement of cash assistance from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 per month, implementation of Prime Minister’s Employment Package in letter and spirit, immediate repairs and renovation of residential blocks and quarters at Jagti, one time compensation of property losses suffered by the migrants for past 28 years,  permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community in Kashmir valley by raising a Satellite Township in a safe and secure place, revoking deferment order of issuance of RBA certificates and issuance of the RBA certificates to those youth who belong to Reserved Backward Area of Kashmir valley.
Pandita, while addressing on the occasion said that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Central Govt, despite their commitments have failed to redress the issues properly .
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were PL Thusso, Kashi Nath Bhat, PL Kachroo, Raj Kumar Bhat, Pintu Ji, Mithen Pandita, ML Aima, MK Suri, SK Pandita, ML Bhat and CL Bhat.
