May Fair Schools organize Annual Day

JAMMU, Jan 4: May Fair Schools Chand Nagar, Chinore and Janipur celebrated Annual Day Function with pomp and show at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu here today.
A galaxy of dignitaries’ were present on the occasion.
Dr (Prof) Nirmal Gupta (Minister of State) Chairperson, J&K State Social Welfare Board was the chief guest, while S Trilochan Singh Wazir, Ex-MLC, President State Gurudwara Parbandhak Board (J&K) was the presiding guest, Suhail Kazmi, senior journalist and Padamshree Balwant Thakur, Regional Director, ICCR, Jammu were the guests of honour.
The function started with the paying of homage to the Founder Late RL Basur, which was followed by the lighting of ceremonial lamp by chief guests along with the other dignitaries.
Chairman of May Fair Schools, Vijay Kumar Basur presented welcome address while Director May Fair Schools highlighted the achievements of the school in Annual Report with the vision and mission of the school.             The function started with ‘Vandana’ presented by the students of Chand Nagar Branch. A glittering bonanza of dances and medley of songs captivated the audience. Beautifully choreographed dances depicting a child’s fantasy, his dreamland, won the hearts of all. However, it was the ,”School Chale Hum Item ” by Chinore branch students which left the audience enormously spell bound with a gripping enactment from the May Fairs students.
More than 400 students from all three branches got prizes in different categories. outstanding students at State and National Level in academics as well as co-curricular activities were honoured by Dr (Prof) Nirmal Gupta, Madan Lal, ID Son, who were the special guests., while the position holders and outstanding students at Class Level of Chand Nagar Branch were honoured by the presiding guest S. Tarlochan Singh Wazir, along with Avtar Singh Khalsa and S. Mohinder Singh.
The position holders and utstanding students at Class Level of Chinore Branch were honoured by the guest of honour, Balwant Thakur along with Ashok Sharma and Pranav Mahajan while the position holders and outstanding students at Class Level of Janipur Branch were honoured by guest of honour, Suhail Kazmi along with  Mohd Aslam Qureshi, Raj Bharti and Manjeet Kour.
Board position holders and all rounder students were awarded with Rs 2000 each under RL Basur Scholarship Scheme.
