JAMMU, Jan 5: A deputation of Evacuee Property Tenants Welfare Society (EPTWS) comprising executive members called on Custodian General in his Office Chamber and apprised him about the discrimination meted out in the Department of Custodian, Jammu.
The deputation led by EPTWS president, Jyoti Vaid, alleged that some provisions of new policy operated in the department and prevalent EP-Act have been violated and blue eyed accommodated in the past despite the fact that the tenants who are innocent and un-aware of the Act, policies and rules of the department are confronted with their petty issues.
“The Department during 2017 has repaired about 150 EP houses out of departmental funds who have some links with the ruling alliance in the State and those who are not aware of ruling systems, are deprived of the facilities”, it said.
The CG said that in blood relation cases, the transfer of allotment is not permissible where as hundreds of the cases have been disposed off under the new policy, operated in the department. He further said that the department will not go beyond the Act and there is no policy except the relevant Act.
